Vucic: Trump’s stance on Kosovo will not change, but at least treat us equally
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told senior US official Mathew Palmer that he would like to see a change in the stance of the US president toward Kosovo.
“I am grateful to the United States of America for the support they have given and give for the European future of Serbia. Our conversation focused more on Kosovo, but we also talked about bilateral relations, which should improve continuously, “Vucic says after the meeting with Palmer.
Vucic also says that he invited Trump to visit Serbia, “in order to offer support” to his country.
“We’re aware that we can’t expect change of position on Kosovo, but we hope and believe that it may happen that we’ll sometimes have balanced attitude when it comes to Serbia (and Kosovo),” Vucic added.
Palmer, on the other hand, says that he will talk with representatives of the US companies in Serbia concerning consequences that imposed Kosovo tariff have caused to them.
“The US continues to support the dialogue led by the European Union, which aims normalizing relations between the two countries. It is important that the dialogue paves the way for Kosovo and Serbia towards the EU. We’re interested in removing the tariff and in continuing the dialogue between two countries, so that opportunities for prosperity can also be found, ” Palmer says./periskopi/
