Vjosa Osmani answers the journalists’ question: “You were very against Thaci, what has changed now?”
Speaker of the Assembly, Vjosa Osmani said today that she has many “political differences” with President Hashim Thaci, but when it comes to Kosovo all political leaders must remain united.
However, the journalists have reminded her about earlier statements for President Thaci.
“As far as the unification of foreign policy positions is concerned, this is both a political and a constitutional obligation. Of course, the Assembly has its key role here.
At this stage, when Kosovo faces tremendous foreign policy challenges, not just because of the dialogue with Serbia, but because of Serbia’s illegal campaign for reversing recognition, and when we face a vicious campaign of Serbia to stop our memberships, we need to speak with one voice on all topics, as President Trump pointed out in one of his letters. It’s thus important to have as much unification as possible on these kinds of topics. Please have in mind that this was a state agenda and that none of these organizations were private. We have had and still have different stances on many issues with the president, especially on the borders issue. I do hope that in this, and any other foreign policy issue, we will unify our positions,” Osmani said.
