The deputy head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and current Minister of Internal Affairs, Agim Veliu, emphasized today that the tariff on Serbian goods should be removed as soon as possible.

“We as the LDK have made clear our official position. In this context, I’m as well for the tariff to be dropped just as our international friends – in this case the Americans – are asking,” Veliu told the Blic news portal.

The number two of the LDK also stressed that Kosovo should always work closely with the United States of America.

When asked if Prime Minister Kurti will bring his proposal to the government for the tariff to be dropped in phases and not entirely as the U.S. demands, he said this issue needs to be discussed in the LDK’s managing structure.

“The LDK bodies should decide how we will act on this issue,” he added.
