Speaker of the Assembly: During negotiations Serbia needs to be pushed to reveal the fate of the missing
Relatives of the missing persons have laid wreaths of flowers today in front of the obelisk for the missing, in main Pristina’s square. They demanded increased internationals pressure to Serbia, so that it shows where their missed loved ones since the last war in Kosovo are. Close relatives, tired from 20 years of waiting for news on remains of their missed beloved ones during the latest war in Kosovo, have gather today with the same request they’ve had for two decades; to understand about fate of missing persons.
In homage, family members were joined by the institutional representatives, including new Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, who said that this issue needs to be conditional for future negotiations with Serbia.
“There has been some effort in order to know something concerning their fate, but I think that more needs to be done in the future, both by the institutions of Kosovo and by every political and institutional state official of the Republic of Kosovo, in order to raise their voice. Wherever we are, even within future negotiations with Serbia, this need to be kind of condition of the Republic of Kosovo; that those responsible for the loss of lives and for the disappearance of our loved ones, be held accountable before justice and return bodies to their family members. We will always strive to be doing what is required from us,” Konjufca said.
