NIPHK: No cases of coronavirus in Kosovo yet
The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPHK) has announced today that there are no cases of coronavirus in Kosovo yet.
In a press release published, the NIPHK announced that it had received information from the UCCK Infectious Disease Clinic today about three suspected cases of coronavirus COVID-19.
“The patients were screened by a team of infectologists at the Infectious Disease Clinic, at UCCK, and samples were taken for the laboratory testing on SARS-CoV-2 virus and Influenza A and B. The Molecular Microbiology Laboratory team, at NIPHK, has tested SARS CoV-2 virus and influenza A and B by the rRT-PCR method, for three patients. Tests have proved negative for SARS-CoV-2, meaning that all three patients are not infected with SARS-CoV-2, while two of them are B Influenza Positive.
This afternoon there were four more samples, one from the Pediatric Clinic and three from the Infectious Disease Clinic, which were immediately put into operation at the NIPHK Laboratories, and we will inform you in due course as soon as the lab is completed,” the NIPHK statement says.
