Mustafa: Kurti has failed to inform the Government. We need to remove the tariff according to the U.S. demand
Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Musfata, said that the decision for partial drop of the 100 per cent tariff on products coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina should have been addressed first in the Government and then published.
In an interview with Klan Kosova, Mustafa said that “we’re now dealing with an explicit U.S. demand which states that the tariff should be dropped completely, and not replaced by reciprocity measures.”
“We need to sit down with the international community [the US and the EU] and find an acceptable solution for all parties, in order to drop the tariff, but as well as force Serbia to give up all its non-tariff measures and from its campaign against Kosovo’s recognition, and in order to then open path for mutual recognition,” Mustafa said.
“I think there is still room for us to sit with Vetevendosje and discuss all the possibilities, and to find a solution that preserves our partnership with the United States and the European Union, as the isolated Kosovo has no prospective and future,” he clarified further.
“I am not saying that I’m supporting or I’m not supporting Prime Minister Kurti’s announcement about the tariff. What Kurti announced last night should have been discussed in the Government. Decisions are made public only when the Government approved them,” Mustafa concluded.
