LDK rejects Kurti’s offer for adding two more ministries: It can be just 12, as we’ve agreed!
Leader of Vetevendosje (VV), Albin Kurti, offered yesterday to the LDK adding two more ministries to the new government, but Mr. Mustafa’s party has rejected his offer today.
“We will increase the number of ministries in the government, from 12 to 14, and in that case Vetevendosje will have 5 ministries and the Democratic League of Kosovo 6. The additional ministry for the LDK comes as a part of one of the big ministries VV has. Three other ministries are for the minorities, as provided by the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. Earlier agreement is valid, that the first deputy prime minister belongs to the LDK, while the second deputy prime minister to VV,” offer of VV stresses.
However, the offer was rejected today by the LDK.
“The number of ministries remains 12 and their structure remains as previously agreed, with the following exceptions: a) The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will join the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. b) The Ministry of Local Government Administration is separated from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where it was integrated during previously reached agreement, and it remains for non-majority communities alongside with the Ministry for Communities and Returns,” is clarified in the new proposal that the LDK made for VV today, the essence of which is that the speaker belongs to the LDK until election of the new president.
Leader of the LDK, Isa Mustafa told the reporters today that the number of ministries remain the same.
