Kurti presents his governing program and priorities
As part of the Assembly session on forming the new government, Prime Ministerial candidate Albin Kurti has presented his governing program.
Kurti said that his program addresses all areas and affects each citizen. According to him, the program fulfills the promises made until October 6.
“Honorable members of the Assembly, dear citizens of the Republic, excellency ambassadors, international representatives, mayors, martyrs’ families… Distinguished guests, let me start with what is most important, our governing program, for we both exist, as the representatives and soon as the government. The full program will be published on the official website, but I will reveal part of it here. We have a program that addresses all areas and affects each citizen. With this program we’ll fulfill the promises of October 6, the day that marked biggest political change in the country, which we’re institutionalizing together today though a new government,” Kurti said.
Leader of VV also stated that this will be a government that will save public money and spend less on posts and privileges and will spend more on development projects.
“We will be a government of public money saving, as you see there will be 15 ministers in front of me and not 21 as they were before. We will have around 33 deputy ministers and not over 80, as they were before. So, we’ll have less spending on posts and privileges and more on development projects. Agencies and public enterprises will be departicized and depoliticized; we will reduce and restructure them and set measurable indicators in order to regulate quality and measure both, success and failure,” he said.
During the presentation of his governing program Kurti also mentioned that this will be government of economic development and employment, which will stop mass migration, promote employment and increase productivity.
According to him, during his governing mandate the budget will reach three billion euros.
“We will be the government of economic development and employment, which will stop mass migration. In order to promote employment and increase productivity we need a program that promotes economic development. We will therefore support development of entrepreneurship as a whole, with focus on assisting small and medium-sized enterprises and manufacturing industry. We see entrepreneurs as key partners in job creation and economic development,” Kurti stressed further.
He also emphasized that, they will level competition among businesses by removing monopoles and by eliminating tax evasion, according to which Kosovo nowadays has more ‘black and gray market’ than free market, and this, Kurti said, will be changed, by also stressing that other relevant priorities in his program are order, justice, security, education and health.
