Harsh words: Vasfije Krasniqi says that women raped during the war were ignored by Kurti and other politicians
Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, a sexual violence survivor from the war in Kosovo, reacted harshly today against Kosovo leaders who, as she underlined, for the 12th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence did not find time to pay a visit to the Heroinat Memorial.
Krasniqi-Goodman, who now lives in the United States, wrote on her Twitter account that it seems that some things never change, while alluding that even the new government led by Albin Kurti, i acting in the same manner as the past ones, by completely bypassing the homage to the Heroinat Memorial, which is dedicated to the victims of sexual violence during the last war in Kosovo, Periskopi reports.
Krasniqi wrote the same thing happened last year, when Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Ramush Haradianj, failed to organize e visit to the Heroinat Memorial.
Otherwise, the Heroinat Memorial is a monument located in the downtown Pristina, dedicated to the sacrifice and comprehensive contribution of Kosovar women during the 1998-1999 war.
