Kurti explains the situation, following the meeting with President Thaçi
Following the meeting with Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaci, Mr. Kurti said that the president demanded creation of institutions as soon as possible, although he had also mentioned “about the time needed.”
“I’ve meet with the president of the Republic, upon his invitation. It was a short consultative meeting with no legal implications, and I was there together with our Foreign Relations Secretary, Kreshnik Ahmeti, and with our Legal Adviser, Blerim Sallahu, to discuss regarding the next phase for constitution of institutions. During this few minutes meeting, I heard the interest of the president in forming the government as soon as possible. However, he at the same time said that in case of the need for more time we need to make a proposal. Though, according to the Constitution, as we have read, it is necessary to do this in writing. I will therefore report on this request of the President to the Presidency of Vetevendosje, and we will as soon as we can bring to the President of the Republic for the name of next Prime Minister, which he should mandate according to the constitutional obligation,” Kurti explained.
