The so-called director for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Marko Djuric, commented on the controversial photo, published on last weekend, where he was seen alongside with the Vetevendosje official, Xhelal Sveçla.

Djuric says that “it was a good thing I was in Tirana, and it was good thing speaking with them, as the Serbian citizens are paying for that”.

“I’ve participated in around 200 meetings, where I defended Serbia and the Kosovo as part of it. This is not something I enjoy, but it’s my job to do it, as you pay me for it,” Djuric says.

Yet, in the first days of the week a controversial photo appeared from a conference held in Tirana, where Xhelal Sveçla of Vetevendosje is seen sitting next to Marko Djuric.

Following a series of reactions from civil society and politicians on social networks, through a status on Facebook Sveçla, among other, argued that:

“I would like to clarify that the Vetevendosje Movement doesn’t function by leaving the tables. Unlike our predecessors, our stance is to participate in every discussion, and to argue our positions in order to disable any agreement that can harm Kosovo .”
