Confiscation of 1 Million Euros worth illegal assets, Ambassador Kosnett considers a major step forward
The U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo, Philip Kosnett, has praised today the Court of Appeal’s decision for confiscation of around 1 Million Euros in illegal assets, as a major step forward.
Ambassador Kosnett wrote on Twitter that the Court of Appeal’s ruling represents a clear message that no one should enjoy unlawful property.
“Justice in Kosovo took a big step with Court decision to confiscate nearly a million Euros gotten through money laundering – a clear message that no one will be allowed to enjoy illegal wealth. Citizens deserve to see same commitment to justice by all Kosovo institutions in all cases,” the U.S. Ambassador wrote on his Tweeter account.
Otherwise, the Court of Appeal announced earlier this week that to all those convicted for money laundering the sentences with imprisonments were reconfirmed, and the properties worth around 1 Million Euros has been confiscated.
