The border crossings with Albania and Kosovo have been closed today at 6.00.

As a precautionary measure against coronavirus the Albanian Government have decided to close all border crossings with Kosovo until March 15, at 24:00, the National Center for Border Management (NCBM) of Kosovo has announced this morning.

“The NCBM informs you about the measures taken by the authorities of the Republic of Albania in respect of border traffic to the Republic of Albania.

Starting on 13/03/2020, at 06:00 h, entry into the territory of the Republic of Albania will be prohibited for all citizens/vehicles of the Republic of Kosovo. Only health/first aid vehicles, commercial vehicles (those carrying goods) and government vehicles will be allowed. This measure will last until the 15/03/2020 at 24.00,” the announcement of NCBM clarifies.

This move was also confirmed by phone and email.

Otherwise there are 23 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Albania so far. One person has lost his life as a result.
