Abdullahu: Neither Thaci nor anyone else is to be blamed for not reaching the agreement, except the LDK and VV
Political analyst, Faton Abdullahu, says the meeting between Thaci and Kurti, announced for today, may be a political spectacle, though it can be quickly forgotten as well.
According to Abdullahu, although the citizens remain concerned about the future, the LDK and VV are to be blamed for not reaching the coalition agreement.
“If you look through the prism of past reports and mutual accusations, today’s meeting between Thaci and Kurti can be important, or perhaps just a political spectacle. Yet, this meeting can as well be quickly forgotten, as it may fail, if viewed from the perspective of formation of the government. In this regard, the citizens today are concerned about the future. Thaci cannot do much to push forward this unjustifiably prolonged process. VV and the LDK are to be blamed for failing to reach an agreement. This has happened in the first place because these two political forces miss the:
1) Institutional courage. The LDK is institutional, but it is not grave, and VV is brave but not institutional.
2) Mutual trust. The two entities are highly suspicious of each other, and therefore try to secure ‘trust’ by gaining more power than the other party, in order to ensure governing convenience – which is not working.
3) External support. There’s no hard evidence so far (other than vague statements) that would help us conclude our international partners are fully and unreservedly supporting the VV – LDK coalition,” Abdullahu said in a post on Facebook.
