Few months ago Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaci, sent a letter to the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. However, this letter doesn’t have in any part of it request from President Thaçi for abolition of the Special Court, as some local Kosovan media reported these couple of days.

The main purpose of this letter, according to our sources within the Presidency, was for the Court not to be mono-ethnic, but to try Serbian crimes as well, primarily around 400 massacres committed in Kosovo, and other similar crimes.

“It’s disappointing that the Special Prosecutor’s Office has devoted its resources for investigating just one ethnic group, that is just Kosovo Albanians, which surely undermines the credibility and legitimacy of the process,” Thaci wrote, among other things, in his letter to the U.S. Secretary Pompeo.
