Kurti warns from Trepca about new dismissals
Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and Speaker of the Assembly, Vjosa Osmani, have been welcomed by protests at the Trepca mine in Staritrg.
Mr. Kurti told protesters that what he did with the Board of Directors in the Telecom he will do the same with others as well, while promising that their demands will be considered.
“Yesterday we fired the Telecom Board, and we will continue with other boards, but we need time to act as we’re still in the second week of governance,” he said.
Arsim Musa, member of the protest organizing council, urged Mr. Kurti to dismiss the Trepca Board as well as, according to him, it violated the last vacancy notice by hiring family members.
“I urge Prime Minister Kurti to dismiss the Board, as in the last competition have been hired people with direct ties to it,” he said.
he protest then dispersed quietly, after Kurti’s promise for meeting the protesters in his office, in order to analyze the situation in more details.
Otherwise, this was not the first protest of the Trepca miners. In a protest held couple of days ago they’ve demanded the dismissal of the Board of their enterprise.
