The PDK: Vjosa Osmani has violated the law; she must urgently return the official photo of the President
Vjosa Osmani, elected last night as speaker of the Assembly, with the votes of Lista Srpska, by removing the official photograph of the President from her new office have violated Law No. 03/L-132 on the State Protocol of the Republic of Kosovo, the reaction of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) stresses, following Mrs. Osmani act of removing the photo of President Hashim Thaci from the office.
“Law enforcement doesn’t depend on anyone’s wishes, regardless of political beliefs. She, as an expert and lecturer in jurisprudence, should know this well. This primitive act of dubiously elected Parliament Speaker, Vjosa Osmani, represents an old mentality of revenge and transmits the language of hatred and disunity towards citizens,” the PDK response underlines.
The PDK considers that from the very first day in her new role, Osmani is proving that she represents her interest within her party and not that of the institution elected for. Hence, according to the PDK, she has seriously offended the Assembly of Kosovo, the temple of democracy and lawmaking in our country.
“The PDK set an example following October 6 elections, by remaining in opposition and accepting the transition of power, but I will not tolerate violation of the constitutional and legal order in any important institution of Kosovo. The PDK is currently considering and analyzing the legal side of her election as the speaker of the Assembly last night,” the statement clarifies further.
Conclusively, the PDK appeals for returning of the President’s photo in its place as soon as possible.
“The Administration of the Assembly of Kosovo should react without delay. On the contrary, the photo of the President will be restored to his position at all costs, as act of preservation of the constitutional character and sovereignty of the country,” the PDK concludes.
