Vjosa Osmani new Speaker of the Assembly for next 4 years, a move that seem to have complicated the president’s issue
The LDK candidate for Prime Minister, Vjosa Osmani, has reportedly agreed to become Speaker of the Assembly from VV-LDK coalition, following resignation of Glauk Konjufca.
However, according to sources of Periskopi, Ms. Osmani will not gain in this post just for one year and two months, as foreseen in her party’s draft agreement, as she demanded to be in charge of the Kosovo Assembly for four years, as one-year stance will harm her reputation and power within the party.
Otherwise, Osmani has won around 176,000 votes in the October 6 election, being the second most voted candidate, after Mr. Kurti.
For the post of Kosovo’s president the LDK is expected to nominate its leader, Isa Mustafa, in April 2021. Furthermore, the latter is expected to back Osmani for his successor in the country’s largest political party.
