Regardless of Mustafa’s announcement, Abazi thinks that another meeting is necessary in order to jointly “discuss both offers and align positions”
Vetevendosje (VV) submitted on Tuesday evening its written offer to the LDK, with the option of increasing the number of ministries from 12 to 14, and that Mr. Mustafa’s party gets 6 ministries.
However, this offer was not seen as a solution by the LDK, thus in response it sent a counter-offer to VV, Periskopi reports.
The LDK among other things proposed that the post of the Speaker of the Assembly belong to them until the election of the new president, when it will again be returned to VV.
Mr. Mustafa announced on Wednesday that they can meet just once more with Mr. Kurti, in order to sign the co-governing agreement, if this agreement can be reached.
It appears that these developments have further alienated potential coalition partners, as public statements from both sides suggested that the last offers are unacceptable for both sides.
When contacted by Periskopi, VV deputy and Mr. Kurti’s nominee as Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Haki Abazi, said that he’s not informed whether VV and the LDK will meet soon. However, Abazi disagrees with Mr. Mustafa, that the next meeting will be the last.
“I do not know if there’s going to be a new meeting, although it was clear from the discussions that VV called for a meeting in order for the sides to approximate positions, as both, VV and the LDK offers were presented during the last meeting. For me, next meeting is a necessity, in order to jointly discuss both offers and align positions,”Abazi says to Periskopi.
