Kurti defends Rama following the meeting with Vucic: We’re one nation and must not confront
Following the media scandal generated by the MiniSchengen meeting in Tirana, leader of Vetevendosje and the expected to be prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in a post in English on Twitter defended Prime Minister Rama.
In fact, Rama was fiercely attacked for the hand-shake and meeting with Serbian president, as this act was by part of the Kosovar public seen as anti-patriotic.
Albania’s prime minister repeatedly appealed to Pristina officials to attend the summit, which was meanwhile attended by leaders of Serbia, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia, the news portal Periskopi reports.
But, Kurti has not joined those who strongly attacked Rama. He in fact underlined that “we [Albanians] are and will always be one nation, and no one can separate us.”
“The principles of inclusiveness and reciprocity should lead us to regional initiatives. The road from Belgrade to Tirana runs through Pristina. We’re and always will be one nation, and no one can separate us. We need more cooperation, not confrontation,” Kurti stressed.
