Kurti: The Law on Salaries need to be changed
Leader of Vetevendosje and the candidate for the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, commented the strike of health and education workers, and the police.
According to Kurti, neither the deputies nor the government can interfere within decisions of the Constitutional Court, but they will address the findings of the final ruling of this court.
“I’m very sorry that we’re facing this situation. The new Law on salaries left many people unhappy, and now even those that were happy are unhappy, too. We, as deputies and as government cannot oppose the Constitutional Court’s decision, and we’re now waiting for the Constitutional Court’s verdict, but we will address all the issues that will be part of that decision,” he says.
Kurti added that the current Law on Salaries has shortcomings and as such it should be changed and amended, in order to eliminate injustices.
“Otherwise, I believe that we need a new bill that amends and changes the current one, in order to eliminate actual inequalities. Let’s recall that, even with the new law on salaries the driver of the Assembly’s speaker has a higher salary than the school principal”, he concluded.
