Banners against Vetevendosje and Xhelal Sveçla in Pristina
During its years in opposition Vetevendosje (VV) was known for public graffiti’s and banners against issues that this party disagreed with. But it looks like VV will now face similar graffiti’s towards itself and its leaders.
Banners against VV have been seen today in the streets of Kosovo’s capital city, following a photo posted earlier in the media of its activist Xhelal Sveçla while having coffee with the so-called Serbian Minister for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, during the pause of a regional conference held in Tirana.
The leader of VV, Albin Kurti, also attended the conference.
Graffiti’s, which were photographed by a citizen at Zahir Pajaziti Square, contains the slogan “No Self-Determination, but Negotiation,” and “Fraudsters and subduers”, coupled with the photos of Albin Kurti, Xhelal Sveçla and Marko Djuric.
Similar graffiti’s appeared in other cities as well, and they seem to be part of an organized joint venture.
It remains unknown so far who’s behind these graffiti’s, though they convey clear political message at a time when Mr. Kurti is expected to assume responsibility for leading the new Kosovo government, based on the outcome of the October 6th elections.
