The Appeal Court has rejected as ungrounded the appeal of the defendant R.S. against the decision for his detention for a month.

The ruling of 24 May, issued by the Basic Court in Prizren, states that this measure will last until 23 June 2019, hence it remains into force.

R.S. is suspected to have committed the criminal offense ‘War Crimes against the Civilian Population.’

The Appeal Court, same as the first instance court, considers that there is sufficient legal basis for his detention, in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Kosovo, because there is a risk that he may run away, or escape,  to avoid criminal liability./periskopi/
