Mustafa: Rugova didn’t manage to see the things he built
On the 14th anniversary of death of Kosovo’s President, Ibrahim Rugova, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) held a memorial academy.
Leader of the LDK, Isa Mustafa, says that Kosovo lost a man of freedom and independence, while President Rugova didn’t manage to see the things he built.
“On this anniversary we’re commemorating with highest honors the first president of the LDK and the historic president, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova. We’ve lost a man of freedom, of the idea and of the independence. The president left this world and didn’t manage to see the roof of the house he built,” Mustafa said, and emphasized that Rugova became a symbol of peace and resistance, and he always worked for Kosovo to become part of Europe and enjoy relations with its friendly states we have today.
“Rugova worked for the idea of independence, and as a leader was special. He opposed Serbian propaganda, and became a symbol of peace and love, which were always ruled by fire and terror. He became a symbol of resistance, and all means proved that Kosovo belongs to Europe. I brought Kosovo a lot of influential friends, as the US and many other friendly states,” Mustafa stressed.
“Kosovo deserves to become economically developed country, beloved by its citizens. Rugova wrote about our natural riches, which gave the stamp to this country and add identity to this people. God bless Ibrahim Rugova,” he concluded his speech.
